This privacy policy applies between you, the User of this Website www.voicesthatcount.net, and Voices That Count CV, the owner and provider of this Website. This privacy policy applies to our use of any and all Data collected by us or provided by you in relation to your use of the Website, and is based on the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
1. Introduction
1.1 This Website Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) applies to the use of data collected through our Website www.voicesthatcount.net (“Website”) which we, Voices That Count CV, registered under Belgian law, company number 0763.955.172 (“we”, “us”, “our”) make available to you (“you”, “your”). Capitalised terms have the meanings in the Conditions, unless they are defined in this policy.
1.2 Unless we say otherwise in this policy, we decide the purposes and means of processing of personal data that is collected about you when you use the Website. We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy in relation to the Website. We have legal obligations to do this as the ‘controller‘ of your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (‘GDPR’).
1.3 This Privacy Policy explains what types of data are collected, the purposes for which it is collected and processed, the legal basis for that and the organisations or types of organisations, if any, to which we may provide your personal data. It is necessary for you to agree to our Privacy Policy, and for us to collect, process, share and store the personal data as described in order for us to be able to provide the Website to you.
1.4 The Website may from time to time contain links to and from the websites of partner networks, advertisers and affiliates. 2. What Personal Information do we collect, how and with which purpose?
We collect Data in the following ways:

2.1. Information you provide us
When you contact us directly through our contact form or register for our newsletter, you provide us Personal Information, such as name, email address, company/organisation name, language preference and personal information you include in your communications with us. The legal basis for processing contact form data is our legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We use this information to provide answers to your questions and to send out newsletters. The legal basis for this processing is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter or by contacting us directly.
2.2. Data that is received from third parties
Voices That Count might receive Data about you from the following third parties to help us analyse our records and make improvements to the Website and our services: WP Statistics, which operates without setting any cookies (or similar technologies).

We collect your Data automatically via cookies, in line with the cookie settings on your browser. For more information about cookies, and how we use them on the Website, see the section below, headed “8. Cookies”.
3. How do we keep your data secure?
3.1 Our Website is hosted by IONOS SE, a European hosting provider headquartered in Germany, with geo-redundant data centres located within the European Union. Your Data is stored through IONOS’s data storage, databases and the general IONOS hosting infrastructure. IONOS has implemented security measures designed to protect the Personal Information you share with us, including physical, electronic and procedural measures such as SSL encryption, DDoS protection, and daily backups.
Regardless of the measures and efforts taken by IONOS, they cannot and do not guarantee the absolute protection and security of your Personal Information, or any other information you upload, publish or otherwise share with IONOS or anyone else. We therefore encourage you to avoid providing us with any sensitive information which you believe its disclosure could cause you substantial or irreparable harm.

3.2 Only dedicated Voices That Count collaborators have access to the admin panel of our WordPress website and IONOS server. Accounts are controlled with a strong password and user name.
4. Data Retention
Newsletter subscriber data and information given to us through our contact forms is kept until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
5. Who we share Data with?
5.1 When we export data from the Website to store or process it on the personal workspaces of Voices That Count collaborators, we use technical and organisational measures to safeguard your Data, for example: access to our Dropbox accounts are controlled by two-factor authentication.
5.2 We may share your Data with Third Party services for the following reasons:
Third party service providers who provide services to us which require the processing of personal Data – to enable you to enjoy the services you signed up for and we offer within the Website: our newsletter which we send out through mailchimp.com. Mailchimp is operated by The Rocket Science Group LLC d/b/a Mailchimp, headquartered in the United States. Data processed through Mailchimp is therefore transferred to the US. This transfer is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) incorporated into Mailchimp’s Data Processing Addendum, and Mailchimp is also certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
6. Direct Marketing
6.1 We send a newsletter to subscribers who have explicitly signed up to receive it. Under Article 13(1) of the ePrivacy Directive, as transposed in Belgian law (Book XII of the Code of Economic Law and the Royal Decree of 4 April 2003), prior, free, specific and informed consent is required before sending electronic marketing communications. We collect this consent at the point of sign-up through an opt-in mechanism. You may withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter.
6.2 We keep a record of the consent you gave, including the date and method of sign-up, as required for accountability purposes under Article 5(2) GDPR. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, after which your email address will be removed from our mailing list within 30 days.
6.3 We will never sell, rent or share your contact details with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link in accordance with Article XII.13, §2 of the Belgian Code of Economic Law.

This Website may, from time to time, provide links to other Websites. We have no control over such Websites and are not responsible for the content of these Websites. This privacy policy does not extend to your use of such Websites. You are advised to read the privacy policy or statement of other Websites prior to using them.
8. Cookies
8.1. About cookies

- Right to correct – the right to have your Data rectified if it is inaccurate or incomplete.

- Right to restrict our use of your Data – the right to “block” us from using your Data or limit the way in which we can use it.
- Right to Data portability – the right to request that we move, copy or transfer your Data.
- Right to object – the right to object to our use of your Data including where we use it for our legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent – where processing is based on consent, the right to withdraw at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing. Required by GDPR Art. 7(3) and particularly relevant here given you use consent as the basis for newsletters.
- Right to lodge a complaint – the right to go directly to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (GBA/APD) at www.dataprotectionauthority.be. Required by GDPR Art. 13(2)(d). Note: the existing Section 9 already mentioned the GBA/APD at the bottom of the contact section, but it belongs in the rights list too — these are separate obligations under GDPR.
